THE PATTERN WORTH SEEING

Battery does not follow price. The $529.99 Theragun PRO runs 120 minutes; the $429.99 Prime Plus runs 150; the $159.99 Relief runs the same 120 as the PRO. Across the whole catalogue the cheapest device with a published runtime — the $109.99 SleepMask — outlasts everything else in it.

Worth knowing

Venom Go is the one product that publishes two runtimes rather than one: up to an hour on level 1 heat, but around 20 minutes on level 3 with vibration. Every other manufacturer figure here is a single best-case number, so read them all as level-1 figures.

WHAT DEGRADES IT

Heat, full discharges and long storage at 100% are the usual culprits with any lithium cell. Neither brand publishes a cycle rating, so none of that guidance comes from them — it is general battery behaviour, and this site would rather say that plainly than dress it up as manufacturer advice.

How long does a massage gun take to charge?

Neither Hyperice nor Therabody publishes a charge time for any Hypervolt or Theragun model, so there is no manufacturer figure to quote. What they do publish is runtime: up to four hours for the Hypervolt 3 Pro, Hypervolt 3 and Hypervolt Go 3, and 120 to 150 minutes across the Theragun line. Plan around the runtime and charge overnight.

Does using the heated head cut the Hypervolt's battery life?

Hyperice publishes one runtime figure per Hypervolt, up to four hours, and does not publish a separate figure for use with the Heated Head, which is one of the five heads shipped with the Hypervolt 3 Pro and Hypervolt 3. Heating draws power, so expect less than the headline figure, but the size of the drop is not published.

How many sessions do I get from one charge?

That depends on how long you run it. Published runtimes are totals rather than session counts: 120 minutes for the Theragun Relief, 150 minutes for the Theragun PRO Plus, and up to three hours for the Normatec 3 systems. At ten minutes a session, that works out at roughly twelve, fifteen and eighteen uses from a full charge.

Which device under $200 has the longest battery?

The Hypervolt Go 3, at $149, publishes up to four hours, which is the same runtime Hyperice gives the $349 Hypervolt 3 Pro. The $159.99 Theragun Relief publishes 120 minutes, and the $129 Venom Go publishes up to an hour at level one heat. On published runtime alone the Hypervolt Go 3 is the pick under $200.
