Work through the cable, the port and the wall outlet before you conclude the battery is dead — in that order, because that is the order of likelihood and the order of cost.

Try a different cable. USB-C cables fail far more often than devices do, and a cable that charges a phone may not carry the current a 40 W device wants.
Try a different outlet and a different wall adapter. Many of these ship with a specific adapter — the Hypervolt 3 comes with an 18 V charger, the Normatec 3 with a 15 V one — and a lower-rated substitute may not charge it.
Look inside the port with a light. Lint compacted into a USB-C port is the single most common cause. Clear it with something non-metallic and non-conductive, with the device off.
Leave it connected for a full hour before deciding. A deeply discharged lithium cell can take a long time to show any charge indicator at all.
Try charging while the device is completely powered down rather than in standby.

IF IT STILL DOES NOT

At that point it is a warranty question, and the answer depends on the brand. Every Therabody product documented on this site states a one-year limited warranty — and on the RecoveryTherm Knee the battery specifically carries a shorter 90-day term, which is worth knowing before you assume the device warranty covers it. No Hyperice product page we read states a warranty term at all.

Worth knowing

Neither brand publishes a battery cycle count or a capacity-retention figure for any product on this site. That means there is no published standard for what counts as normal decline versus a defect — which matters when you are arguing a claim.

Proof of purchase with a date, the serial number, and a description of what you have already tried. Support conversations move faster when the first three steps above are already ruled out, and slower when they are not.
